Dahlia and the Sun Fly

Dahlia and the Sun Fly

Flowers of Chatsworth House

Dahlia and the Sun Fly

Dahlia and the Sun Fly

Having a day out with my friend Emma, we set about Chatsworth. Our intent was to photographing the beautiful flowers the gardens on display for everyone to see.

In this series for Flowers from Chatsworth, all the photography was hand-held using the Canon 100mm f2.8l is usm lens, minor adjustments and cropping in Lightroom 4.

Another variety of dahlia, unfortunately I have struggled to identify it. There is a hover fly feeding on the nectar. Hover flies can be mistaken for wasps. This is a sun fly. You can identify the hover flies by their wings.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.
