Surprise View Star Trails
Night Time Photography
We were expecting to see some Northern Lights from 9pm on January the 8th, we were not so lucky, our Stargazing experts on the TV said there would be a chance to see it as far as the Southern Counties of the UK, so the Peak District is somewhere in the middle would be even luckier. However I decided to have another attempt on the northern sky for star trailing, my back-up plan worked. It was very busy out at Surprise View, a lot people were traipsing around with their torches as you can see their trails in the image. We are not far from Manchester airport and you can see some vapour trails too.
I researched heavily on this technique and yet still room for improvement, getting the foreground right and being able to use my software better. Here is the outcome of my efforts. Thank you and I hope you enjoy.
