Lamb Hill Wood Cascade 2

Lamb Hill Wood is situated on the north side of Damflask Reservoir. It has two main cascades which flow into the body of water. This particular cascade is the furthest away from the Sheffield Viking Sailing club, it is very striking and to note a little awkward to negotiate safely. It has a vertical fall almost 90 degrees before it slopes to around 45 degrees  to where there is a footbridge over the entry point into the reservoir. Lucky I found a tree to prop my gear up and myself. It is a narrow Clough with little sturdy ground to stand upon. My boots would have let in water if I stood in the water for any length of time. I need some wellies….!

This was a two-minute exposure using the Big Stopper. The sun came in and out from behind clouds and ‘light painted’ the greenery upon the rocks. The twigs and branches seem alien, poking out of the smooth water at jaunty angles, like sinew and bones.
