Chris and John suggested we go on the steam train from Minehead to Watchet. Reuben seemed excited at this prospect, so we headed out to catch the 10.17 train to arrive at Watchet 10.47hrs. While we looked at the timetable we discovered we may be in for short visit to Watchet. The conductor in his regalia as the 900 volunteers for the Somerset and Devon Railway take this business rather seriously; said the train return journey is every two hours, and you could stop of on the line anywhere such as Dunster or Washford and make a day of it. Alas it was not to be, for our travel and lunch arrangements. We stayed for 20 minutes, quickly looked at the harbour and peaked the what was the mill and headed back to the station for our return journey. Ah but there is always another time to make a return visit…such optimism, never an opportunity missed, just wait for another opportunity to arise 😀
I am not stream train enthusiast am afraid to say, I leave that for other people to do, however the mementos are our tickets!
