Droplets of Rain

I was pottering in my garden and decided to take a picture of these raindrops on the underside of a smoke bush leaf I had recently pruned from the front of the house. We had a short shower of rain and I could clearly see the epidermis layer, with good cell detail. I chose to shoot f2.8 and focus on the vein where the raindrops had fallen, and liked the magnification the water has created on the larger drop. As a result on the wide aperture a bokeh effect or vignetting has formed either side of the focal line. The smoke bush leaf on its sunny side up is a rich wine colour.

Thank you for calling into my blog today 😀
