River Loxley

River Loxley

Landscape Photography – Loxley Valley

River Loxley

Enjoying a little bit of time off work. What seems like eons for me to get up and go out for most of the day with my camera, tripod, filters, and of course my trusty flask of coffee.

First stop at this weir (believed to be Bradshaw Wheel at Wisewood Forge) about a quarter of a mile into my journey was in wanting of a big stopper – 6 minute exposure. A little overcast, was just about right. I edited in Lightroom 4 and Colour FX pro. I wanted to capture the autumnal feel. The valley still rich with green foliage and changing to leaves to golden browns.

River Loxley merges with the River Rivelin at Malin Bridge, Hillsborough. The Loxley has history of mills, forging and cutlers. It descends from Bradfield moors though Agden and Damflask Reservoirs
